Jammu Police cracks multiple theft cases; 5 women among 13 arrested, stolen property worth over Rs 27 lakh recovered

In a significant breakthrough, Jammu Police South Zone, under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu and the leadership of SP City South, SDPO City South and SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar has successfully cracked 6 theft cases including 2 snatching cases and 1 theft case of vital BSNL telecom infrastructure through the tireless efforts of Police Station Gandhi Nagar and Police Post Digiana within a time period of two and a half months, leading to the arrest of 13 accused, including one minor, and the recovery of stolen property worth more than Rs 27 lakh.

Addressing media, SP South Ajay Sharma said that written complaints were received at Police Station Gandhi Nagar regarding multiple incidents in Shastri Nagar and Gandhi Nagar areas, including chain snatching, motorcycle theft, and theft of construction material. FIRs including FIRs 103, 126/2025 under section 304 BNS; FIRS 142, 143/2025 under section 303(2) BNS.
Acting promptly, a special team was constituted by SP City South, led by PSI Maan Singh under the close supervision of SHO PS Gandhi Nagar and SDPO City South. CCTV footage and Smart City surveillance were analyzed to identify and apprehend the culprits.
