IRISHMAN PAYS PRICE FOR POOR START TO SEASON AND SEARCH IS ON FOR A NEW BOSS

- TOM COLEMAN Football writer tom.coleman@walesonline.co.uk

SWANSEA City say the search for a new head coach is already well under way, after confirming the sacking of Alan Sheehan.

News of Sheehan's impending departure had broken earlier yesterday before the club confirmed the news in a short statement.

“Swansea can confirm the club has parted ways with head coach Alan Sheehan,” the club said.

“The 39-year-old was appointed as full-time head coach in April following two highly-impressive stints in interim charge of the Swans.

“Alan initially took over in December 2023, overseeing seven games with a win percentage of 42.86 per cent.

"His second spell in charge saw him record a win percentage of 58.3 per cent from 13 games, including a run of five wins in a row.
