Store shuts doors as part of high street chain's overhaul

POUNDLAND in Ammanford has shut its doors as part of a sweeping overhaul under new management.

Altogether 10 outlets closed in the UK yesterday, including the Ammanford store and one in Cardiff, with numerous others earmarked to follow suit by mid-September. In total 49 stores have been affected by the changes.
This round of closures comes after Poundland's acquisition by US investment firm Gordon Brothers from previous owner Pepco Group in June for a symbolic sum of just £1.
