Region on alert as Storm Bram rolls in
December 09, 2025
|South Wales Evening Post
THE public is being urged to stay alert and prepared as Storm Bram is anticipated to cause flooding and disruption across the country.
Natural Resouces Wales (NRW) said a series of flood alerts and flood warnings were expected to be issued last night, extending into today.
According to NRW, the potential for significant impacts is high, with South Wales likely to bear the brunt of the storm.
An amber warning for rain was issued by the Met Office affecting Wales, which came into force at midnight and remains in place until 10am today.
This includes Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, and Torfaen.
A yellow warning for rain came into effect for Wales at 6pm last night and is in place until 2pm today, alongside a yellow warning for wind covering large swathes of Wales from 10pm last night until 4pm today. High tides coupled with strong winds could result in very large waves, particularly in Gwynedd and Ceredigion. People are advised to steer clear of promenades and the seafront.
