In-form pair get to grips with iconic venue as they claim Epynt glory

THE inform pair of Sam Touzel and co-driver Max Freeman reigned supreme as Port Talbot Motor Club rounded off the rallying year on the Epynt military ranges.

Jersey driver Touzel and co-driver Freeman claimed overall victory. It capped a remarkable spell for the duo, who prior to Epynt had taken the Protyre Championship and the BRC Open title with their performance in Rali Ceredigion in their Ford Fiesta Rally 2.

This was a special event for Port Talbot Motor Club, who were the first club to run stage rallying on the legendary Epynt roads in 1965.

This year's rally welcomed Ynys-cynon MOT Centre as sponsor, and also marked the finale of the Protyre MSUK Asphalt Rally Championship. The Ford pair battled with the Darrian T90 GTR of Wayne and Rhys Jones in the first day’s two short and two long special stages.
