SWANSEA City boss Alan Sheehan says he’s held talks with Ollie Cooper about his future at the club, and admits a decision over what comes next could well be made in the next few days.

However, he insists the midfielder will be the one who ultimately makes the call on his future.

Cooper has found game-time hard to come by under the current Swans boss, and the captures of Marko Stamenic, Ethan Galbraith and Malick Yalcouye have only further stiffened the competition for places in the middle of the park.

The 25-year-old has been omitted from Craig Bellamy’s latest Wales squad, and Sheehan admits a move away might be the best way of getting his World Cup bid on track.

"I think that’s something that obviously will come out in the next couple of days and we'll see where Ollie is,” Sheehan said.

"He was involved the other night, he’s been involved in the cup game and in league games as well.

"I think for somebody like Ollie, he needs to be playing regularly to go and have an impact on that World Cup squad.
