Cardiff ring changes for the first game of SA double-header

May 10, 2025

|

South Wales Evening Post

CARDIFF head coach Matt Sherratt rings the changes as his side face the Bulls in Durban in the URC today (3pm).

Wales forwards Taulupe Faletau and Teddy Williams drop to the bench as Cardiff start their double-header which will see them go on to face Stormers in Cape Town next week-end.

Sherratt’s men are the best-placed of the three Welsh teams hoping to make the play-offs with two regular-seasons rounds to go.

Skipper Liam Belcher also moves to the bench with Evan Lloyd starting at hooker alongside returning loose-head Corey Domachowski.

They are among six starting changes for the visitors with Rory Thornton taking over from Williams and Faletau making way for Alun Lawrence.

James Botham switches from blind to open-side as Alex Mann returns in the six jersey.

Tinus de Beer returns at fly-half as the only Cardiff backline change with Callum Sheedy dropping out of the matchday squad as Sherratt goes for a 6-2 split on the bench.
