Bellamy: 'I've nothing against Canada boss'

WALES boss Craig Bellamy insists he has no problem with Canada’s Jesse Marsch ahead of a possible reunion at the World Cup next summer.

- TOM COLEMAN Sport reporter

But he has suggested Marsch has “got something against the world”, following their lively encounter earlier this year.

The pair were at the heart of a back and forth during and after a friendly match between the two sides in Swansea, a game Canada won 1-0.

But tensions rose between the two dugouts after Bellamy seemingly took exception to what he felt were some premature celebrations from his opposite number during stoppage-time.

“I see him (Marsch) celebrating at the end. I’m thinking, ‘I hope I see you at the World Cup. I hope I see you again,” he said at the time.

Should his side make it past Bosnia, and one of Italy or Northern Ireland in the upcoming playoffs in March, Bellamy will get his wish, with a potentially spicy curtain-raiser in Toronto the reward for his team.
