Homes plans ‘excessive for hamlet’

A development of 115 houses which would see a Somerset village “increase its size by nearly 50%” is “excessive”, according toa local councillor.
Nearly 100 residents attended a public meeting at the Haydon Cue Club on Tuesday, September 16, to discuss a planning application to build up to 115 new homes.
The plans, submitted by the Silverwood Partnership, would see the homes built on the field adjacent to Grovewood Road in the hamlet of Haydon.
Currently, there are around 245 dwellings in Haydon.
