Domestic football is back, and it was exciting to watch some games this past weekend, with some interesting results. doing.

We saw 10 league goals scored in four matches with Chippa United remaining at the foot of the table after their 2-1 loss away to Marumo Gallants at Dr Molemela Stadium. Orbit College secured their third win so far this campaign, with Monnapule Saleng scoring their winning goal to give them 10 points from 10 games, when they beat TS Galaxy 2-1. I'm sure, by the time you read this column, there will be some changes as three fixtures would have been played on Wednesday night. These are indeed exciting times for our football and I'm sure you are enjoying it as much as I am doing.

On CAF inter-club tournaments

We had Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs participating in the CAF inter-club competitions, as they were in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup clashes this past weekend, respectively. Obviously, the teams came back with mixed results as Sundowns won convincingly, with Pirates losing while Stellies and Chiefs played to goalless draws.

The teams will be playing their second leg matches this weekend and I wish them all the best. It is very important for our teams to do well in these tournaments as that experience will benefit our national team and equip our players to be able to handle the pressures that come with international football. Once again, all the best to our representatives because we want to see an improvement from last season's performances. Remember, we had three of our four teams reaching the semi-finals while Sundowns lost in the final.

The Chairman and CEO never panicked!

Siwelele FC had a rather difficult start to the 2025/26 season. The club was established in 2025 after the purchase of SuperSport United’s PSL status and was renamed Siwelele FC. To make matters worse, Siwelele suffered six defeats in their first 10 league games. Yet, the club kept faith in coach Lehlohonolo Seema. After all, the man has been around the block, and with over a decade in the dugout, he’s capable of doing the job. In this interview with Tiyani wa ka Mabasa, Seema opens up about stabilising the team and also looks back on the season.

Morena's 10-year milestone

With the CAF Champions League final looming, Thapelo Morena has an opportunity to celebrate the milestone of 10 years with Mamelodi Sundowns by lifting the biggest trophy in club football on the continent. The 32-year-old has been a true servant at Sundowns and is in his 10th year, having won all the trophies except the Champions League. When Sundowns won the Champions League in 2016, Morena was a member of the team, but was not registered in the competition. Soccer Laduma’s Tshepang Mailwane spoke to individuals who had worked with Morena to figure out why he has been able to last so long at Sundowns.
