FINAL-DAY HEARTACHE AS BOSTON HIT BACK TO WIN
SLEAFORD Town suffered last-day heartache as they were relegated from the UCL Premier Division North following a 3-2 loss to Boston Town.
It was a case of what might have been for the Greens, as they were 2-0 up through Andy Whalen’s double, only for the Poachers to score three times, including a late winner.
Greens boss Matt Evans named an unchanged 11 from the side that had played out a goalless draw against Newark and Sherwood United only days earlier.
Sleaford made a flying start as a free-kick crossed in from Ben Ashall was met by Ben Robson at the back post.
His header was put back across the goal, which was met by Whalen, whose shot hit the underside of the bar and landed in.
Greens controlled the next 20 minutes, but were unable to get a second goal.
