Hawdon stars in home Parkrun as 262 athletes race Leas course

Rachel Hawdon, from the home club, finished a prominent third in the South Shields Parkrun on Saturday.

Morpeth's Alex Noonan was 16th overall in the mixed field of 262, and first woman with a time of 22:14 for the 5km over the Leas, with Hawdon recording 23:58.
Caroline Ames, from Jarrow and Hebburn, was fourth in 24:02, with Shields’ Rosemary Anthony eighth in 25:32.
