Rail line to close for nine days of works in August

Network Rail has announced the line between Redhill and Tonbridge will once again be closing to allow for an embankment to be strengthened and the line upgraded.

It is due to close for a total of nine days as works take place from Saturday, August 16 until Monday, August 25. Buses will replace trains between the stations and passengers have been urged to “plan their journeys ahead of time and leave more time to travel”.

The shutdown follows a previous closure of the line for more than two weeks in early 2024 after a landslip at Bough Beech, between Edenbridge and Penshurst.
