DEDICATED SUPPORT TO HELP GRADUATES
-
THIS is a key time for those graduating from university and finding that first job.
Scunthorpe Jobcentre Plus offers dedicated support to help graduates transition into employment, training, or further development.
You may be eligible to claim universal credit the day after your course officially finishes dependant on your individual circumstances.
You can complete an on-line assessment to see what benefits you may be entitled to www.gov.uk/check-benefits-financial-support.
If you are entitled to Universal Credit or other available benefits and you are looking for work, you will get a personal work coach who can help you identify suitable job opportunities.
They will also offer guidance and coaching on career planning and job applications, as well as putting together a CV and preparing for job interviews.
Work coaches also have access to some immediate interviews for employers in the area who wish to work with the local jobcentre to fill their vacancies.
If you are an employer wanting to widen your talent pool please contact Scunthorpe.employer-team@dwp.gov.uk where a named employer advisor will be able to advise you of the free at source recruitment service.
Although you now have a degree you may not have the employability skills required for applying to the available roles, but work coaches can signpost you to ways of gaining those skills at no cost to yourself.
