Solar farm and battery energy storage system near Immingham given go-ahead
May 01, 2025
|Scunthorpe Telegraph
A MAJOR solar farm has been given the go-ahead by councillors.
-
The council's planning committee gave its approval to One Planet's proposed 49.9MW solar farm on agricultural land off Margaret Street, Immingham, to the west of the A1173. The proposal also includes the installation of a battery energy storage system (BESS), which was a main concern of objectors.
The solar farm and BESS will cover about 74 hectares of the 94-hectare site, the rest set aside for landscaping. Most of the land is assessed as relatively poor quality agricultural land.
