SCUNTHORPE BEAT BOTTESFORD TOWN 4-0 IN FIRST FIXTURE
SCUNTHORPE United boss Andy Butler reflected positively on the beginning of preseason at the club after their first runout of the summer.
The Iron beat local side Bottesford Town 4-0 in the opening preseason fixture.
First half goals from Joey Dawson, Dubem Eze and trialist Uppal put Scunthorpe into a commanding position at the interval, with the second half XI adding to that lead through Carlton Ubaezuonu.
Butler explained that his squad has done a lot of running in their first week of training to build on the baseline of fitness they have returned to action with, so he was pleased with what they were able to do in the first game.
