Multiple incidents as people flocked to Scots beauty spots during hot spell
A MAN has died after being pulled from the water at Loch Lomond amid a series of heatwave deaths.
Rescue services raced to the scene near to Ardvorlich at around 10.30pm on Saturday after police received a report of a concern for a man.
Loch Lomond Rescue Boat members were also called by the Scottish Ambulance Service to assist with what was described as a “serious incident” on a beach between Inveruglas and Ardlui.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30pm on Saturday, 12 July, we received a report of concern for a man at Loch Lomond near to Ardvorlich.
“The 50-year-old was recovered from water and taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he died on Sunday, 13 July, 2025.
“His death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesman for LLRB said: “We launched immediately and once on the scene, worked alongside ambulance and Police Scotland colleagues for some considerable time.
