Tourism is ruining our castle ruins!
July 11, 2025
|Scottish Daily Express
A CRUMBLING Scots castle is under threat from erosion caused by the tourists who visit every year.
Duntulm Castle dates back to the 15th century and sits on the coast of Trotternish on Skye.
It is undergoing urgent works to fix deterioration of the site.
The ruined castle once served as a clan fortress for hundreds of years but now faces a very modern threat.
Summer visitors flock to the island — the second most popular destination in the country after Edinburgh.
