Tories tell McAllan... stick to day job

A SCOTTISH Government minister has been told to get on with her day job after she warned that independence will "never, ever be off the table" for the SNP.

John Swinney insists that a majority of MSPs at Holyrood would give him a mandate for breaking up the UK, also claiming that he has a secret plan to get around any UK Government block on a second referendum.

Housing Secretary Mairi McAllan was grilled about these plans on BBC Good Morning Scotland where she rejected suggestions that Mr Swinney was taking a "punt" with the economy.
