Sydney flat out for historic 400m double

SYDNEY McLAUGHLIN-LEVRONE almost took down one of the most controversial world records in athletics in the fastest 400m race in history.

The double Olympic champion and world-record holder in the 400m hurdles showed she can do it all in the flat to become the first woman to win the world title in both disciplines.
She did so in a time of 47.78 seconds, the second fastest in history behind only Marita Koch.
