Swinney has £3k day trip

TAXPAYERS were lumbered with a bill of almost £3,000 so John Swinney could go to London for a day to celebrate the recognition of Palestinian statehood.

SHONA ROBISON’S bid to force the UK Government to pay for Donald Trump and DJ Vance’s visits to the UK has fallen flat after she was told they were private trips.

Police Scotland ran up a bill of £26million covering the visits, neither of which came after an official invite from the UK Government.

The US President spent four days here in July and the Vice-President had four days in Ayrshire in August.
