Scots beach closed as bomb squad tackle suspect object

A BEACH was cordoned off after a suspected explosive device was found on the shore and the bomb squad called in.
The ordnance was reported to the Coastguard and officers rushed to the scene. A 100-metre cordon was established around the object.
Greenock Coastguard started to deal with the incident around lunchtime on Sunday.
The object was discovered on a beach between Lunderston Bay and Inverkip, Renfrewshire.
