JIM GOODWIN believes head of referees Willie Collum will have had to have some “heated discussions” with officials this season over controversial decisions.

The Dundee United boss revealed his club have requested an explanation over the penalty given against them in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.

Goodwin (right) was left livid after referee Matthew MacDermid wasn't asked by the VAR to go to the monitor after penalising Krisztian Keresztes for a challenge on Killie forward Marley Watkins, with Bruce Anderson equalising on the followup from the resulting spot-kick.

“Hopefully we'll hear back (from the SFA) in the next day or so," said Goodwin ahead of tonight's visit from Rangers.
