Poisoned guest 'raved' about food just hours before she died

A GUEST who died after eating a dish laced with death cap mushrooms had praised the culinary skills of triple murder suspect Erin Patterson, a court heard.

Heather Wilkinson “raved” about the “delicious and beautiful” beef wellington, hours before becoming violently ill and admitted to hospital.

Mother-of-two Patterson, 50, of Leongatha in south-east Australia is accused of deliberately poisoning her estranged husband Simon’s parents, Don and Gail Patterson, both 70, and Gail’s sister Heather, 66, at a week end lunch on July 23, 2023.

A court in Morwell, Victoria, was told Patterson had eaten from a different plate and did not have the mushrooms.
