PM: We accept woman ruling ...get on with it

PUBLIC sector officials have been ordered by the Prime Minister to get on and implement a gender ruling over two months after the Supreme Court delivered its judgment.

The UK’s highest court in April confirmed the terms “woman” and “sex” in the 2010 Equality Act “refer to a biological woman and biological sex”.

It was interpreted to mean transgender women can be excluded from women-only spaces such as toilets and changing rooms.

But parts of the public sector, such as hospitals, universities and Government departments, have still failed to implement it.
