Better the Red Devil you know as Williams follows friend north

- BY GORDON PARKS

TAKING tips from former Rangers struggler Amad on what to expect in Scotland could have been a risky move for Ethan Williams.

But the Falkirk winger insists the advice from his Manchester United teammate that he should cut his teeth in professional football north of the border has been wise counsel.

Amad's loan spell at Ibrox was a disaster as fans only saw rare glimpses of a talent now lighting up Old Trafford.

‘And Williams unashamedly name-dropped as he revealed his ultimate ambition is to emulate his Red Devils wing rival by making every moment count during his Bairns loan stint.

He said: “I knew within myself, before speaking to Amad, that Scotland would be a tough level.

“The reputation speaks for itself with the good players who have come from Scottish football.

“My goal is to get to the Premier League and hopefully I can do that. I knew it was a tough time for Amad at Rangers and you never know how life will turn out, we'll just see what happens.
