No injury worries for trip to Rome

SCOTLAND have been given a clean bill of health ahead of Saturday's Six Nations opener against Italy.

Glasgow Warriors pair Jamie Dobie and Jack Dempsey were two of the biggest injury worries.

Versatile scrumhalf Dobie had been curtailed by a knee infection, while No.8 Dempsey injured a foot in training.

However, Scotland assistant coach Lee Radford reported they were available for the trip to Rome.

He said: “Dobie’s looked well. Both of them are in great form at the moment.

They didn't participate last week but the rest will have done them the world of good.

“Hopefully they'll be fresh for this weekend.

“Nobody's pulled out today, so everybody who was initially named is ready to go.”

Two of the hookers in the squad, Edinburgh's Ewan Ashman and Vannes’ Dave Cherry, were also injury doubts last week.
