Robbo's head won't be turned by Pittodrie job speculation

STEPHEN ROBINSON is only thinking about this week's two St Mirren games, not Aberdeen, after he emerged as the early favourite to succeed the departed Jimmy Thelin.

Robinson worked with Dons chief executive Alan Burrows at Motherwell and has further enhanced his reputationin Paisley this season by adding Premier Sports Cup glory to three consecutive top-six finishes.

The former Northern Ireland assistant manager has plenty to occupy his mind, though, with Saints facing Premiership bottom club Livingston - whom they sit two places and nine points above - tonight before hosting Falkirk four days later.

A five-match unbeaten run ended with defeats to Rangers and Motherwell last week and this week’s encounters could shape whether the Buddies are battling for another top-six finish or fighting for survival.
