Net zero scheme 'drop in the ocean'

THE SNP and UK Labour have been branded "frankly embarrassing" after boasting about a scheme to help 200 oil and gas workers move into green energy, while leaving 83,000 employees behind.

Both governments have been accused of abandoning the vital sector in a madcap push for net zero.

Ed Miliband, the UK Government's Net Zero Secretary, has already failed to defend new explorations in the North Sea and is known to be against oil and gas.

The Scottish Government still has a presumption against any new developments being created off the coast off Scotland.

Transition

Workers in the north east are concerned about their future as the 'just transition' promised by the SNP has yet to materialise with renewables not big enough to replace the jobs that will be lost when drilling stops. Despite this, the Nats are still pushing for net zero.
