Manufacturers' jobs warning over JLR hacking shutdown

Supply firms are 'close to collapse'

THOUSANDS of jobs will be lost because of the devastating Jaguar Land Rover cyber attack unless ministers help now, firms warned yesterday.

It came at an emergency session of the House of Commons Business Committee, where companies linked to the car-making giant told MPs they were close to collapse.

Committee chairman Liam Byrne, a former Labour Cabinet minister, fired off letters to Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle, warning delay could cause irreversible damage to the manufacturing sector.
