Killer grandson locked up for 15 years

A VIOLENT scrounger who killed his frail grandad after he stood up to his demands for money has been jailed for 15 years.

Jakob Walpole, 33, bludgeoned world-renowned Jaguar restorer John Brown, 81, at his bungalow minutes after Mr Brown gestured at CCTV for help.

The camera had been installed by the victim's daughter Lynda Brown to protect him and wife Dot from her own son.

Warwick Crown Court heard that Mr Brown died six days later from a bleed on the brain.

Walpole was found guilty of manslaughter, two counts of assault and one of breaching a restraining order but cleared of murder after a three-week trial.
