Gilruth already washes her hands of vital guidance on school toilets

‘People may prefer to use other terms’

JENNY GILRUTH has now refused to say eight times whether males are now banned from using female bathrooms and changing rooms in Scottish schools.

The Education Secretary published long-awaited guidance on Monday in response to the UK Supreme Court ruling on the meaning of sex in the Equality Act.

The guidance clearly states that “primary and secondary schools are required to provide separate toilets for boys and girls”.

But Ms Gilruth later took part in two separate car crash BBC Scotland interviews where she said the rules were not mandatory.

Asked six times if boys were banned from girls toilets, she was unable to answer the simple question.
