Double killer is jailed for man's 'debt abduction'

Cons get 5 years after 'chop up' threat

A DOUBLE murderer who had been released from jail threatened to "chop up" a businessman after abducting him over an unpaid debt involving a supercar.

Iain Meikleham admitted holding victim Derek Smart hostage for five hours over claims he had failed to pay more than £5,000 for the hire of a £200,000 Lamborghini.

Meikleham and co-accused, Parmdeep Singh, told Mr Smart, 44, that they might chop off his hand with an axe - or completely dismember him.

But between desperate calls to get cash, Mr Smart messaged "help" to 999.

Police located him and raided the Autofusion rental firm in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, where he was being held.
