Doctors forced to give patients 'corridor care' on daily basis

ALMOST two-thirds of doctors cared for patients in temporary spaces such as hospital corridors every day during the summer, a survey has revealed.

Some medics admitted they had even considered retiring early because of the crisis.

The Royal College of Physicians' (RCP) poll of 553 doctors found 59% had reported caring for patients in temporary spaces between June and August.

Some 45% said this happened daily or almost daily. And 94% said patient privacy and dignity had been compromised, while 84% said they felt confidentiality was at risk.
