Community helps fund Tommy's cancer care

THE parents of a toddler with cancer were stunned after well-wishers organised a fundraiser to pay for potentially life-saving treatment.

Three-year-old Tommy Quinn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last year after a lump was found in his stomach.

Tommy, of Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, is set to finish his NHS treatment this year and, depending on the results of scans, the plan is for him to go to either the US or Europe for further care.

His parents were delighted when kind-hearted "strangers" set up a fundraising event to help cover the costs.
