Cash dropped in favour of contactless payments

HALF of adults used mobile contactless payments regularly last year while cash accounted for less than 10% of transactions, a finance industry body said.

Physical money made up 9% of payments in 2024, down from 48% a decade earlier, UK Finance revealed.
