Brit's fear over exit bid from Georgia

A BRITON jailed and beaten in Georgia after he was falsely accused of being a spy during protests last year has been prevented from leaving after his release.

Bar manager Daniel Travis, 28, told the Daily Express he fears being detained and harmed again if he cannot leave before his visa runs out in September.

The barman from Liverpool said that pro-Putin state authorities relentlessly followed him for weeks after he was let out of prison in December.

He has effectively put on a "no-fly list", meaning he cannot come home.
