Avoid floods of tears from climate change damage
October 15, 2025
|Scottish Daily Express
HOMEOWNERS are being urged to take action as climate change threatens millions of UK properties with flooding and subsidence.
-

Surface water flooding is expected to surge in urban areas, with the number of homes at risk potentially rising from 6.3 million to eight million.
Warmer temperatures mean heavier rainfall and regular floods, while subsidence could worsen as clay soils expand and contract in hotter, drier weather.
