Scotland captain vows to fight for his Reds future

LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher thinks Andy Robertson should be replaced at Anfield.

And it’s no secret that Reds boss Arne Slot is eyeing left-back options for next season.

But Scotland captain Robertson didn't get to where he is in this game by accepting being second best.

He has heard all the rumours down south, about how his club have scouted Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson to take his position next season.

But Robertson is used to it now. You get the feeling he thrives on the challenge, revels in people doubting him.

Despite turning 31 just over a week ago, he's ready to prove his worth all over again.

Robertson admits to making a few uncharacteristic errors this term, prompting Sky Sports pundit Carragher to urge his old club to delve into the transfer market.

But given the Scot’s CV at Anfield — winning every major English honour as well as the Champions League — he has every right to feel he deserves more respect.

Ironically, tonight in Greece he'll go up against his Liverpool team-mate and fellow left-back Kostas Tsimikas, whom he's managed to keep out of the team for almost five years.

And after the anguish of losing the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle at Wembley last weekend, Robertson is determined to shine on the international stage again.
