The Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) today announced that it helped recover more than $33 million in lost life insurance benefits and annuities since January 1 for more than 1,600 Pennsylvanians through the NAIC’s Life Insurance Policy Locator service, advancing the Shapiro Administration’s work to help Pennsylvanians recover money and benefits they’re rightfully owed.

“At PID, we’re proud to play a part in helping Pennsylvanians during this difficult time, and we want consumers to know we’re here to assist in any way we can as it relates to tracking down lost life insurance policies,” said Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys. “The life locator tool is free and easy to use and helps connect Pennsylvanians with the benefits and annuities their loved one intended for them to have. We urge any Pennsylvanian who believes they’re a beneficiary on a lost life insurance policy to contact PID so that we can submit your information into the database. You’ll be notified if your name is included in a policy.”
