A New View: How Arthur Aston is transforming disability awareness and empowerment
ScoopUSA Media, Volume 65 - Number 46
|Scoop USA Newspaper
In every generation, some individuals rise from personal challenge to become a voice for something greater than themselves. They do not wait for change; they become the change. In New Jersey, one such voice belongs to Arthur Aston, a
-
powerful advocate, storyteller, and leader whose life has been shaped by both adversity and a profound sense of purpose.
Born with spina bifida, Arthur has faced obstacles that many could only imagine. But instead of allowing his disability to confine his outlook or limit his dreams, he chose a different path—one paved with advocacy, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. He became a builder of community, a champion for accessibility, and a voice for the unseen and unheard.
For years, Arthur poured his heart into Jake’s Place, an organization rooted in love, inclusivity, and the belief that every child deserves a space to play, smile, and belong. Through this work—and through his leadership with the Camden County Miracle League—Arthur helped families create memories on playgrounds and ballfields where no child was left on the sidelines. He didn’t just help build accessible spaces; he helped build moments of joy, dignity, and connection.
Yet, as powerful as that chapter has been, Arthur has felt a calling rising within him—one that extends beyond playgrounds and ballfields, into classrooms, auditoriums, boardrooms, and communities across the nation. That calling is now becoming his next mission. The next chapter is titled OurView.
