THE social evolution of humanity has led to much greater levels of interdependence.
The main strategy that will allow humanity to assume responsibility for its collective destiny is “the consciousness of the oneness of humankind. Deceptively simple in popular discourse, the concept that humanity constitutes a single people presents fundamental challenges to the way that most of the institutions of contemporary society carry out their functions”, says the Bahá'í International Community in its statement titled ‘The Prosperity of Humankind’.
Instead of recognising the reality of the oneness of human family, our current global systems and structures are deeply-rooted in oppositional conceptions of identity that breed mistrust and reinforce competition.
