|Runcorn Weekly News
NICK Griffiths, owner and managing director of Industrial Cooling Equipment Ltd (ICE), has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Halton Business Awards 2025.
-
The award aims to recognise exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and sustained business growth within the Halton region and this achievement is reflective of Nick's incredible journey at ICE over the last 15 years.
The family-run business currently operates from its Runcorn HQ and is regarded as one of the most respected names within the refrigeration industry.
Under Nick's leadership, the company has experienced a staggering 500 per cent revenue growth since he took the reins in 2011, transforming it from a modest operation with just three engineers into a thriving business.
Nick said: "It's nice to get some recognition for the past 15 years of work I've put into ICE.
"When I took over in 2011, we had £5,000 in the bank, a looming £12k tax bill and just a few engineers myself included.
"I had no business experience at all. What I did have was grit, determination and a vision."
