Bassetlaw set for transport overhaul as region secures £2bn investment

MONEY is set to be pumped into the transport network in Bassetlaw according to the local MP Jo White.

A government announcement last Wednesday suggested that the East Midlands Combined Authority would receive £2bn in funding for roads, buses and rail.
It was part of an announcement of massive investment in transport infrastructure by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves.
On Wednesday, June 4, the Chancellor more than doubled the investment in local transport in England's city regions.
According to the East Midlands Combined Authority, working people will benefit from a new mass transit system to connect Derby and Nottingham encompassing road, rail and bus improvements.
The money will also support connections across the so-called Trent Arc Corridor, the Infinity Park Investment Zone and East Midlands Freeport.
