A 'crafty' idea to turn former cafe into a town micropub

HOPES FOR NEW VENUE TO OPEN ITS DOORS NEXT MONTH
PLANS have been revealed for a new micropub to be set up at a closed cafe.
The prospective operators of the new boozer, which would be called Retford Craft House, have applied to open up on Beardsalls Row, Retford.
The team behind the pub plans have asked Bassetlaw District Council for permission to change the use of the Grade-II listed building, which was used as a cafe until it closed in 2024.
The micropub’s directors are hoping to have the new venue ready to open in early June and have said it will have a variety of drinks that are “completely different to anywhere else in the area”.
They have promised it will offer an extensive range of craft ales, lagers, sours, ciders, wines and spirits.
