The film has a simple premise. Dharmadas (Sasikumar) and Vasanthi (Simran) and their two young sons escape from the economically-unstable Jafna in Sri Lanka to start a new life in Tamil Nadu.
They do this by using falsified documents to get into Rameshwaram, a fishing village located near Jafna.
The family land in Tamil Nadu, assisted by Prakash (Yogi Babu), who plays Vasanthie’s brother.
