Department of Education finalises admissions

Learner placement remains a concern for parents as the new academic year continues, with the Department of Education yet to release updated figures on learners who have been placed and those still awaiting admission.

Schools reopened earlier this month, and while the department has assured parents that the placement process is ongoing, updated statistics for the current academic year have not yet been finalised. Department spokesperson Mike Maringa said the delay in releasing updated figures was due to internal commitments. "I've shared the challenge is that officials are currently not in the office as they are attending a portfolio committee programme in Burgersfort."
