Met olieverf vang sy mense op verfdoek vas

Met 'n foto in haar hand en 'n wit muur as verfdoek, beplan Cornet Kleynhans reeds haar volgende stap. As kunstenaar geniet sy dit om skilderye en kommissiewerk te doen, en pas sy haar kunswerke aan by die behoeftes van haar kliënte.
Cornet se liefde vir die kunste het reeds as jong meisie begin toe sy saam met haar pa na-uurse kunsklasse bygewoon het. Sy was net 12 jaar oud. Op hoërskool het sy kuns as vak geniet, waarna sy BA beeldende kunste gaan studeer het met spesialisering in inligtingsontwerp.
"Daar was 'n tyd wat ek argitektuur wou studeer, maar dit was net 'n fase. My pa het altyd geglo ek moet studeer, en ek het uiteindelik op kuns besluit. Dit was uitdagend, want ek het gevoel ek is nie op dieselfde vlak as die studente wat by Pro Arte Alphen Park was nie,” vertel sy.
