Perthshire bridge is damaged again

Driver crashed car into wall at Bridge of Cally

A Perthshire road bridge - which recently underwent year-long repairs - has been badly damaged for a second time in an early morning road incident.

The Bridge of Cally bridge spanning the River Ardle which carries the A93 trunk road was hit by a car not long after midnight on Tuesday, June 17.

It is understood that the vehicle's driver was shaken, but uninjured. Police and ambulance attended and the car was removed that morning. Barriers are in place and the road remains open.

Photographs show a large gap in the bridge parapet where the vehicle's impact appears to have damaged masonry.
