Penalties of £830k for Perthshire tax defaulters

Three businesses were given penalties totalling more than £830,000

Three Perthshire deliberate tax defaulters have received penalties amounting to more than more than £800,000.

The total amount of tax owed to the exchequer was £1,020,767.13.

The Perthshire businesses were named in an updated HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) list published this week.

The list includes those penalised under civil procedures - individuals and businesses who deliberately defaulted on their tax obligations where the tax lost exceeds £25,000.
